Nice Diagonals
I have had this pair of diagonal cutting pliers for several months now. I like them a lot. I am a carpenter. I always try to keep a pair in my toolbelt for removing nails in wood and more importantly, to cut nails that either a sawzall can't reach, or it's quicker to just pull out my Diagonals and make a quick cut. What really impressed me is the amount of fasteners I can now cut. I can now cut through hardened screws and nails thicker than 16 penny. Now, I will say on tough fasteners you have to use 2 hands, but that is a big improvement over the ChannelLock ones I gave away and my old pair that is over 15 years old. These get the job done and have already saved me time! They look good too.

Southwire 8" leverage diagonal cutting pliers
I have used the Southwire high leverage cutting pliers (Southwire Item # DCP8D) to cut #10 AWG solid copper wire, and it cut through the wire easily, and would also cut through #10/2-WG romex quite easily. The tool's longer handles create the leverage that makes for easier wire cutting, compared with other wire cutters with shorter handles. The tool is a quality item, and has been coated with a clear coat like substance that should help prevent rust formation. I would highly recommend this tool to both professionals and DIY'ers with home improvement electrical projects, hobby, etc.

These Will Cut !!!
Any tool that goes in my tool pouch or tool box HAS to be Good. I tested these DCP8D cutters on a few types of wire, nails and screws. They performed flawlessly. They cut 16-10 gauge stranded and solid wire with just a little effort on the larger sizes. The screws were a #8x1" and drywall screws for metal studs and wood. It took both hands and they cut easily. The Nails were a 16d and a 16d from a pneumatic nail gun. Again Cutting easily.
The Handles are cushioned and Feel good in the hand. Even when bearing down on them to cut heavier wire and nails.
The only damage to the DCP8D cutters was some flaking off of the paint on them. But, this is normal. The Cutters are Just as sharp as ever.
These are Defiantly goin in my Tool Pouch and should last for decades, unless I cut a Hot wire again...

Cuts everything in its path.....
I use this type of tool nearly everyday I work and these proved to be ready to work along with me! I cut safety wire from .020"-..041" stainless with ease using these pliers. I also cut stainless cotter pins and removed previously installed cotter pins with less effort trying to get a grip to remove old pins. They feel good in your hand, the dipped handles make getting a grip on the pliers easier. This tool is a must have in my line of work and I'm glad I chose these!

Work Great!!
South wire continues to win me over with each tool I buy or am given. I have used these the past couple of weeks and they work great! I have used them to cut from #14 to #6 wire and they did it with no problem. The handles have good leverage, are sharp, and cut with no problem. They also pry out staples good even though the angled heads would be better, but still do a good job!!

Great Tool for the money, not a lightweight
This is a quality tool, it is heavy, great made. the pivot joint is loose from the factory, no break in time ,like with competitors tools. Handles are comfortable in your hand, and easy to use with gloves on. Makes clean straight cuts. Pivot is in the right place to give high leverage for easy cuts. this is a great tool for the price. I will buy from Southwire again.

Super tough!
To describe something that's tough the expression tough as nails is often used. Well these pliers are tougher than nails because you can cut right through most nails. I used them to cut through a few drywall screws and trim screws and some 16d nails. The long handle gives enough leverage and the cutting edge didn't break or chip at all. Theses are pretty nice.

Great cutters!
I received these cutters months ago and have been using them on a variety of jobs from cutting standard stranded wire, hardware cloth building my chicken coop to cutting heavy duty chain link fence. They still are cutting like the day I got them! South wire has excellent tools and equipment!
